Helpful hints to those struggling with OG fortnite

Okay, you can’t just play like how you have been in recent seasons. There’s no mobility, limited shields and weapons. This is not the fortnite you’re used to and it should not be. If you want to play how you’ve been then go play the new season, but if you want advice on how to actually succeed as a struggling player here you go.

First, stop. Dropping. POI’s. If you’re dying off of the rip bc you can’t get a gun, stop dropping POI’s. If you want to, then you have to have a perfect drop and be one of the first one’s there or you’re dead. Early game and end game are the hardest by far, mid game is light. So just survive early game however you gotta do it. And sometimes you won’t, a lot of the times you won’t. That’s how this game was. Surviving early game has ALWAYS been a huge struggle.

If you’re worried about being outgunned don’t be. Every gun in this game can rip you. Scar, grey AR, doesn’t matter. Only gun that really matters is having a pump over a tac. You can’t just spray in this game, no more holding down the trigger at any sort of range. Take advantage of first shot accuracy. And you’re gonna lose some fights bc bloom RNG was not on your side, and you’re gonna win some fights bc it was. It’s frustrating but that’s the game, how it’s always been.

Stop pushing everyone you see or every fight you hear. You gotta play strategic. You have no easy escape when things go sideways. Play for circle, play slow, play for high ground, play for cover. Have an escape plan. And sometimes you’re just gonna lose to someone better than you, there’s always a bigger fish. You see someone sweaty, follow him, wait for the third party and work to kill him. Play strategically. If you’re playing zero build bring portaforts, they’re HUGE late game.

This game is NOT supposed to be easy to win, bot lobbies and sbmm have made us soft. This OG is a lot easier with duos or squads with the addition of reboot vans than it was back then. Actual season 1 I only won like 3 games total. You aren’t supposed to be winning constant games. But when you do win, it’s so much more satisfying. It’s been 7 years and I still remember my first win. This game is not meant to be fair, are battle royales supposed to be fair? No. It’s survival of the fittest. So play to your strengths and play for survival.
