What am I doing wrong?

I'm not looking for any specific answers because obviously you're not next to me watching me fish and can't see what I'm doing wrong.... Or right. But any advice will be appreciated.

I've been fishing for just a short time. I just started a few months ago. I was gifted an open reel rod from a friend, plus I purchased one prior. Pictured is pretty much the lures I have been using. The bag has some senko type lures and frogs coated in bass oil and salt.

I have been catching ZERO fish. I'm not even getting any bites. I have been told the lakes and ponds here in the southern Chicago suburbs are over pressured, and I get that, but nothing? Really? I'm going out in the AM. Noon. 5-8pm. Lakes. Ponds. Rivers. Nothing. I'm primarily hoping to catch bass but at this point I'd be happy to catch a goldfish. /s

Any advice on equipment or what I can be doing to increase my success?
