Update 12/10: My manager went and complained to some folks in the office at our terminal. Didn’t really address the safety issue and said that the maps don’t reflect our exact location when delivering and that the customer more than likely drove around looking for a FedEx truck. I’m doing my part by trying to speak with the chain of command so it’s time to bump this issue with someone higher. It shouldn’t take someone dying over a package for this company to do something to keep us safe.

Just had a man drive up to my van while I was pulling boxes for my next stops. Said he’s been waiting on his Christmas tree since 3:30. It’s almost 8 pm so it’s dark. Then he tells me he looked me up on his map and decided to “save me a trip” and take his tree. He came from a completely different neighborhood. This is absolutely ridiculous. I don’t feel safe. Even when I tried getting down from the van I asked him if I could squeeze by and he didn’t move. If you are waiting on a package have some respect for those delivering to you. You will get your package! We shouldn’t be having to demand this.
