It is Canon (kinda)

The answer to what is canon isn't always straightforward. Stories get adaptations, remakes, translations, and parodies that alter details.

An example of this is in the Scum Villain fandom. ​In the novel it never says the texture of Luo Binghe's hair. However, he is meant to be a pseudo self-insert character to a Han Chinese audience so there is no reason to think his hair is anything other than straight. Most of the official art reflects this...except the English and Russian translations. Their official art gives him curly hair, a detail myself and many other English fans have latched on to.
