What’s up with the court lingo

Alright, ive never been a fall out boy listener. I know uma thurman and because i was watching one tree hill i now know dance dance. Both songs i really like so i started trying to find more songs and what stands out to me is that they use alot of court / lawyer lingo.

Like the songs, our lawyer made us change our name or im like a lawyer. And then in just one yesterday. They say “anything you say can and will be held against you” or in uma thurman “il keep you like an oath”. So my question is i have listened to these 5 songs and they all have some sort of legal jargon. Is there a reason why this keeps coming back and what is said reason. For anybody who is gonna read this or reply. Thanks ahead for any thoughts on this.
