Mortgage Ends in March 2023, but expect to sell within 6-12 months. Suggestions?
My mortgage deal ends in March 2023 but I expect to sell the property within 6-12 months of that date. Live in a 1-bed flat but want to move into a house. Unfortunately, the exact date is yet to be determined and obviously will depend on me finding the right property as well.
If I expected to stay in the property longer, I would get a 2-year fix but if it's only going to be 6-12 months more, is it worth it? There don't seem to be 1-year fixes available.
Options at the moment seem to be:
- Stay on the standard variable rate (8.49% at the moment)
- Get a 2-year fix but break that early
- Find a tracker/discounted mortgage with no ERC
