Therapeutic Riding Breakaway Reins
Hi All! My coworkers and I are trying to find a solution for a problem we are experiencing with some of our students. They will sometimes pick up the reins and lift them up and over their head, so the inside of the reins are behind their neck below their helmet. Often times we are able to stop this before it happens, or correct it quickly, but it is a point of stress and concern for my coworkers and I. We are hoping to find a solution where there is a breakaway where the buckle at the end of the rein. They make reins like this for eventers and jumpers, but they require more force to break than we want. We want something that will break easier if the force is applied by a child by hand. I hope this makes sense!
