Did anyone else "lose something" after a major epileptic event?

Sooo Im wondering if anyone else has a similar experience to me, where I had a sudden bout of many seizures and sorta just woke up in a hospital having no clue how I even got there. And then it turned out that the event was severe enough to lead to a brain injury, and I briefly lost my short term memory due to localized damage in the hippocampus...

The short term memory damage is still noticeable, even after 2 years of recovery. I have difficulty with nearly every single daily task due to constantly forgetting everything. I am entirely reliant on note-taking as a core part of coping with the injury. Alarms and reminders arent just helpful, they are necessary for my day to day functions! My life is just hell and I cant stand it anymore...

So did anyone else have a similar experience? Where you experienced a localized brain injury and thus lost a critical function of your brain? Anyone else who ended up with similar short term memory loss? Perhaps lost effective use of another part of the brain like fine motor control or speech or reading or math processing or something like that?

Id be very curious to hear some stories from other sufferers of this horrible condition and hear what your personal experiences are like! Thanks
