Your tricks on savings on groceries and monthly expenses in 2025
Happy New Year everyone! Recently CTV News Edmonton had a very brief article about a St. Albert family of 7 who manages to spend $700 on groceries and gas - I wish they mentioned more actual details as to how they do it, except for checking Flipp and shopping online - so, just because of that, it was a very poor article. Anyway, things are getting more and more expensive. Food costs an arm and a leg, property taxes will drive many people out of their homes. It's just so expensive. I wonder how people deal with their basics monthly needs. Do you have any specific go-to places for decent prices on decent food? Any grocery tricks? Do you buy local? Farmers markets? Do you buy at Costco? We rarely eat out, we cook at home. We try to eat healthy, less processed food, more veggies and meet. We grow veggies in our backyard in the summer. But food and just basic day to day expenses have been getting more and more expensive. How do you manage?
