SRAM OR SHIMANO?

Hi, lately i've been having problems with my sram code r brakes and I'm wondering if I should change to shimano, maybe Saint? Any suggestions? I like the modulation on sram but I also love the on/off feel of shimano? is there anything in the middle maybe magura or even hayes?
