Need help at eliotrope

Hi guys, I'm an ultra noob who started to play again after a 13 years break. I'm around lvl 40 with elio and I like the class overall but... it just feel like I deal really low dmg ? I have leveled intelligence to 100, got Intel items and it just feel like my dps output is really mid?

Most of the time casting wakfu ray twice seems straight up better thab portal+ 1 ray, and even with a complicated portal setup I deal mediocre dmg compared to other classes? Am I doing something wrong or is it supposed to scale later ?
