I want to run a SCAM in RP

Quick back story! I’m a Lvl 5 Changling Wizard (Actor and high charisma) and have a Lvl 5 Gnome rogue party member(High sleight of hand). We have aligned our pasts together growing up on the streets as charlatans.

We’ve had many battles recently and my character is struggling to pay for an item. We’ve just saved our guild town from a sickness.

I want my character to go back to their old ways with their little buddy and run a few key scams they would have done growing up together as orphans…

Our DM is pretty shrewd, fair but realistic. What are some quick key scams or cons we could do to get a little more gold and relive some background fun time bonding RP and create some opportunities for us to deepen our story growing up together.
