M99 retconned to ketamine back to m99?

Title says it all, saw newest episode they showed m99 being used, wonder if in resurrection they're going to bring up the whole ketamine thing and make some excuse why that helped capture dexter. Dunno if it's true but heard only reason it was retconned in the first place was cuz of m.c.halls band.
