“Breakfast” Nook - help!
Husband and I just bought a house. The kitchen/dining room layout was very odd and didn’t really allow for a formal dining table. Our best option to have a table to eat at inside was to do a corner nook, as pictured. I was very excited when I got all of this together but I just feel like it’s lacking.
The pillows are too small and the color doesn’t mesh well with the cushion/rug colors. How many pillows should I get? What color scheme should I focus on?
I got the wall “decor” super cheap from IKEA. I think the wall decor is lacking so I’m open to any suggestions on what to put there. Additionally, our entire house has those vertical blinds on the window. Eventually I want to remove them and replace them with different window treatments (more modern ones). Would love opinions on what window treatments to get that would complement the corner nook.
We also plan on replacing the baseboards with something more appealing and painting the entire kitchen eventually. We want to take our time with this though, so focusing on the stuff mentioned above before we get to that. The light fixture in the ceiling is not centered over the table (because where the light is situated had no room to put a table underneath) so I think we will eventually remove that.
PS - we had to remove some counters/cabinets which is why there’s an area of missing tile and exposed hardwood underneath. Working on trying to find a good tile match to fill this in but it’s more challenging than it looks.
Thanks in advance!
