PSA: Here's why you keep aggroing that Daemonhost, and why it might not be (entirely) your fault
As most people know, all you need to do to avoid a DH is to not shoot at it or get too close, simple enough! But not quite.
What most people do not realize is how large the aggro range of a DH really is (10 meters!), that's because detection is not instant! Several events can increase this "aggro meter":
1.BEING INSIDE THE 10 METERS RADIUS! Scales with proximity! The closer you are, the faster you will wake it. If you are on the very edge this can take a long time but... more on that later
2.SHOOTING INSIDE THE 10 METERS RADIUS! (as in, having your bullets fly through it) Also scales with proximity! Shooting at, or in very close proximity of the DH will aggro it instantly, shooting near the edge has very little effect and you might be fooled into thinking it's safe but it can still be enough to trigger it if done one too many times.
3.POINTING YOUR FLASHLIGHT AT IT! This is fairly forgiving as long as you don't hold it for too long, however...
ALL OF THESE ACTIONS CONTRIBUTE TO WAKING UP A DAEMONHOST! That means if you're trying to carefully sneak up past you could get the blame if your teammates have been shooting all around it. The DH will go after whoever caused the last event that caused this aggro meter to fill up completely
So what can you do with this information?
1.WAIT and LOOK! The aggro meter decays over time. If you see the daemonhost visibly struggle that means it's about to wake up! Wait for it to calm down before moving past and stop shooting near it!
2.LISTEN! Rejects will comment on a daemonhost that's being disturbed("leave it alone!"), that means you should stop whatever you're doing before it's too late.
3.KEEP MOVING! Some DH placements make it impossible to get past without entering its aggro radius. Go past it as fast as you can! If you want to be extra careful take turns to do so one at a time, back away and wait if it starts to struggle.
4.LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION! The safest way to avoid disaster caused by one too many stray shots is to not have to fight enemies around a DH, manouver to lure enemies where they can be dealt with safely.
Lastly, the detection radius of a sleeping daemonhost is much smaller, so avoid waking it up in the first place if you can
