Illusory walls

I started playing dark souls 2 a bit ago, coming from dark souls. With that I assumed whenever there was an illusory wall message I’d have to hit the wall to uncover it. I’m in drangleic castle and only now am I finding out you have to press x/a now in ds2. I’m beyond disappointed with myself for not realizing this sooner lmfao
