Living on a second floor apartment?

Hi! So my question is, does any doxie owners live in a second floor apartment? Is this doable? I grew up with dachshunds so I know all about the importance of their backs and needing to be extra careful. I would of course carry my pup up and down the stairs, I don’t care about any extra work on me.. I have a good yard for a dog with plenty of space.. I just am curious to know if anyone else has owned a ween while living on a second floor.. were you able to make it work?
