A question about James Gunn's cinematography...
What's been going on with his cinematography? Specifically the lighting?
Let me preface by saying that I love James Gunn, the Guardians movies, the Suicide Squad, Peacemaker and now Creature Commandos are amongst my favorite comic book media. He clearly understands the fun and goofy side of comics while embracing a heartfelt and mature story. I have absolute faith that story wise, he's gonna do an incredible job with Superman.
BUT... I don't love his new "harsh", white lighting with his recent works. I felt it worked for the Suicide Squad because it's a harsh and grimey story so I felt it worked. And we clearly see that even in recent works, such as Peacemaker, that he doesn't always use this lighting. But Superman? I'm hoping this is only a handful of scenes because I don't feel it works well with the Superman character. Again, I have faith in everything James Gunn is doing minus this one aspect. I just wanted to hear everyone's thoughts regarding it. Thanks!
