DACA Approved 2 months Before 150 Day Mark

• Current EAD expires July 2025
• Should have submitted DACA renewal beginning Feb 2025 (150 Day Mark)
• Trump Won 11/5/2024
• I panicked and submitted my DACA renewal on 11/16/2024
• DACA was approved on 12/17/2024 (7 months early / 210 days before current EAD expires)

I don’t have the new physical approval notice or EAD just yet - too early but good to know USCIS is on top of our renewals and they aren’t rejecting early submissions or waiting until the 150 day mark to review/approve.

I know I’ve lost time because I renewed early but relieved I don’t have to go into Trumps administration in 2025 with uncertainty around my ability to live and work in the US.

Posting this to say - if you are comfortable applying early, apply early! Prepare for 2025.
