Hey everyone 👋 Hope you had a good holiday break. I sure did. The title is a bit of a mix-up. We're not actually starting back up at 1 (Maybe...) More just a way to indicate a new beginning. Was thinking about the direction I (we) wanted to take for this sub for 2025. While it's fun to have something new to theorize every week, it's not always feasible for the current mod team to pump something out consistently. So to help with this I'm going to make some adjustments so we can get things out in a timely fashion. Here's just a few:

1) Two Design Submission Limit

I've enjoyed having near unlimited number of submissions from you guys. When it's a good theme I see how excited you guys get to show us all your ideas. Unfortunately this delays the winner process as we each have to comb through all of them. So from now on we'll be accepting 2 maximum submissions per theme. So make em count 😉 You will be allowed to post an extra one if you'd like to dip into the sub-theme as well. But still only one design can win. Speaking of winners...

2) Less Winners/Different deliberation.

Normally alongside winners we like to leave a paragraph of thoughts explaining our decision or simply glazing the designs 🤭 While we may still give our thoughts here and there, this part of the WDC will be more streamlined and we may simply have a list of the mod favorites alongside one overall winner. I'll continue to brainstorm ideas to keep this fun as I think great ideas and members should be highlighted. On the topic of great ideas...

3) Bigger/Better Themes. Longer Competitions.

I've asked many times in the past if you guys prefer a new theme every week or for better themes that last a bit longer. The overwhelming majority voted for weekly, so with this new system we will try for that. But, we will also be trying to give more interesting topics in general to give us some breathing room. May play around with having a secondary theme each week to give you guys more to tinker with 👍

That's it for now. As much as I have been away from Snap in general lately, I still love what we've built in this sub and want to see it succeed. If you have any ideas you'd like to see for the subreddit, WDC, or anything please let us know. Also if you'd like to be a direct part of the WDC/Mod Team absolutely reach out to Tuesday/Joshey. We'd love to chat! Thanks again for your patience guys and Happy New Year ❤ī¸ Let's have a fun one (:

Submission Guidelines

You may make multiple submissions, but only one from each person will be considered for the winner list. Please keep all your submissions grouped in one comment, and have the stats and ability visible within that comment (if possible) Submissions not posted to this comment section will NOT be eligible to win. You may submit cards you have previously posted to the subreddit. Cards do not need to be Marvel IP. Location concepts are accepted. Rework concepts are accepted.

Rating Guidelines

Cards will be rated based on: Originality | Interesting Gameplay Interactions |Overall Balance

Popularity/Upvotes do impact the rating of a card, but is ultimately not a deciding factor in its placing. If a post is doing well, it's a good sign it's doing something right, but we equally appreciate diamonds in the rough.
