Is ut okay sharing complete payslips and bank statement with credit card agent?

Basically the title. I am trying to apply for a credit card from HDFC and the agent is asking for payslips and bank statements which is okay because my primary account is with a different bank. Now, I shared the documents with them after hiding my account number and balance and they are saying it's not acceptable. I'm not okay sharing all these details with an agent. I wanted to check if it's okay. I'm basically a noob hence it might sound like a silly question.
