Public Restrooms … are you for or against?

Just out of curiosity… what is everyone’s take on the lack of public restrooms being accessible these days? It seems like ever since COVID kicked off a lot of businesses never returned to the use of public restrooms for their customers. I can 100% understand their reasoning but what about the people with emergencies and health problems that require them to use the restrooms a lot?

I can give a quick example about what happened to me tonight. I had to go to urgent care for a UTI which most of you know can cause frequent bathroom trips and it can be extremely painful if you don’t relieve yourself. I made sure I used the bathroom before leaving the urgent care and by the time I got to the pharmacy to pick up my meds I had to go again and it seemed unbearable to hold it in. I asked the lady behind the counter if I could use the bathroom and she responded “we don’t let the public use our restrooms anymore”.

I wasn’t rude, I just politely explained my situation and told her it was an emergency. She then had a security guard escort me to the bathroom after telling me she was going to make an exception but wasn’t supposed to. What would have happened if she didn’t make the exception? I’m really glad and grateful that she did though 🙏🏻😊

I just wanna know what you guys think about the public restrooms still being closed in most businesses. (I’m located in Hawaii) maybe other locations are different.
