Fleet tracking... I made a mistake

I bought a bunch of Galaxy tags before doing research and find myself pretty unhappy with them, they rely on other Samsung devices to pick up the Bluetooth signal to send the location back to me, so if no one with a Samsung phone comes within 20-30ish feet of the trackers they are completely lost, the city I operate in has a pretty high theft rate, I stay in nicer neighborhoods for the most part but still find myself worried every night when I have my trailer on a job, I'm interested in hearing from anyone that has trackers that they use for vehicles, small equipment and tools, I'm looking for something that will provide a continuous location, I'm fine with replacing batteries relatively often, I also would like something small enough I can hide easily in tool boxes.
