Recreating "Moon Milk" from Summermoon (Austin, TX)
I know this has been asked on the internet before (I've Googled and searched Reddit several times over the past couple years), but I haven't found anything besides random conjecture about mixing Torani syrups.
Does anyone have an inside line on what goes into Summermoon's delicious "moon milk?" The secret is apparently "moon juice" that's pre-mixed off site and then blended with half-and-half at the shops, so even the employees don't know what's in it.
A PM would be fine if you don't want the world to know, I'm just trying to recreate it at home so I can stop shambling in there like a desperate junkie multiple times a week.
Edit: A commenter below gave what looked to be an official recipe (number of ingredients was correct) and after trying it I think it's the real deal:
2 - Equal parts whole milk + heavy cream 1 part - Sugar (Caine or white refined) 1 part -Salt (the ingredient no one ever guesses) 3 - Moon Juice: equal parts vanilla, irish cream and white chocolate syrups.
Adjusted some of the proportions but it's basically a perfect match. For me, it turned out the Irish Cream syrup was the magical mystery flavor I could never figure out. For a while I felt like commercial-grade soft serve ice cream mix was a pretty close facsimile and I stand by that but this new recipe is definitely closer to the truth I think.
