On Revelation

In Revelation those who follow Christ are described as a minority of people standing on a hill, from what I remember. But the Christian population is estimated to be 2.3 billion, making it the largest religion and about 1/3rd of the human population. These two facts seem to be contradictory. What do you make of it?
