What’s a better representation for china? Plum flower or peony?

Question for fellow Chinese here. I’ve nominated myself for a position in Chinese lang department elections and I wanna brand myself by the country’s national flower

Unfortunately I don’t know a lot about Chinese culture so educate me😢
