01 Cherokee Sport stopped in the street

Today I drove my new old cherokee about 100 feet and it cut off in the middle of the road. i had to cycle the key back and forth 10 times to turn the car around and then it stopped again and wont start anymore, just cranks infinitely. Someone told me it could be the gas so i walked to the gas station and got 4 gallons and some fuel additive and it didnt help. This whole ordeal basically drained the battery so now I have to jump it when I get off of work, any advice?
