Willingly “Working” On Sundays.

I have a dilemma. I am self employed and I make my own hours. I am a graphic designer. I really enjoy my work. It doesn’t even feel like work. I feel like I get paid to have fun. I work a lot on my iPad. I find it really hard to not work on Sundays.

I attend my Sunday mass, but after mass I find myself unable to stall my time. I understand it is a day of rest but I can’t find anything to do with my time and I do not like wasting time by trying to busy myself. I can play video games, watch television, and read a book but not for very long. I usually clean my house on Sundays and even that makes me question if I am violating the Sabbath day.

My main question is, is it a sin to use my extra time on Sunday to catch up or get ahead with my work or even draw concepts on my iPad? Keep in mind I am able to go to Mass with no problem. My work can’t stop me from going to mass. There are times when I have a tight deadline due and it lands on a Sunday I try to get it out the way as fast as possible (after mass of course!)

I just can’t see myself doing nothing on a perfectly good day. I have to get something done. Either doing dishes, laundry, sweeping, or mopping. Time shouldn’t be wasted. Sometimes I get my best ideas on Sundays and I am motivated to work but I end up having to write it down on a note and putting it on my desk. I will ask my priest the first chance I get but any of you guys have some sort of answer for now?
