Looking to get a 2025 premium plus, dealer wasn't interested in negotiating
We went 4 days ago to test drive a premium plus but he only had preferred. We test drove that, and told us to come back today to check on the 25 and that he does have a couple of 25 premium plus but they weren't on the lot that day.
We went back today (~1h drive) only to find a 24 instead, and he kept pushing to get us a 24. We stay firm on the 25 and we go to discuss numbers. He mentioned he doesn't have a 25 (despite him saying a few days ago that he does) and would have to trade for it from another dealer.
He goes on the website and we choose 3 accessories that we wanted for $455 total (rear bumper guard, cargo liner and all weather mats). Add the rhodium white paint color $595.
He then asks how much are we looking to pay per month. I said let's get the OTD number first of all.
$36620 MSRP $39484 OTD (this includes a $1402 dealer discount, tax, accessories and the white paint color).
We asked if this was their final offer. He said yes final. We also asked if we can lower the 3.99 interest rate and if that rate would change with a higher down. He said no.
So we just asked him to send us that offer, that were gonna visit other dealerships and compare offers. The offer page he gave us looks like the mazda website build page template.
This is my first time negotiating, I thought I had prepared well, I watched all kinds of tutorials and asked around. He just seemed uninterested and unwilling to talk.
This dealership has 4.8 with 1.2k reviews on Google.
Not sure if this offer is a good one, what do you think? Appreciate any advice thank you.
