Applied Or Core Maths?

I'm sure on taking commerce in Class 11. Should I take Applied or Core Maths?

1. I went through the CBSE sub and people were saying that applied is not a safe option. How?
2. People were saying that applied reduces career choices. How? Isn't it more suitable for commerce?
3. Do prestigious universities and IIMs prefer applied or core maths? I went through DU's Information Bulletin and there didn't seem to be any preference.
4. Any preference for CUET?
5. What about for courses like CA, CFA, CMA?
