Clarification on hate against rangoli made by NCC cadets of RV Institute of Technology and Management, Bangalore.

Hello folks. I am one of the 3rd Year NCC Cadets at RVITM. We hosted the Republic Day in a grand fashion today - complete with flag hoisting and cultural programmes including classical music and dance forms and a patriotic song performed by the 1st year cadets [in pic].

I am posting this here to provide clarifications on a post by ScholarUnlucky171 on this subreddit today. I was typing this same comment under that post before it got locked few minutes ago.

The picture uploaded by OP, ScholarUnlucky171 (Post by OP) is that of the the flag area decoration done by us. This is a common activity conducted in the Republic Day Camp conducted in DG NCC, as well as a tradition followed by most schools and colleges which have NCC.

The intention behind this decoration was not to show that Karnataka is supreme or any such things accused in the comments but it was to represent us as a part of this beautiful nation.

In NCC camps, competitions are conducted to judge which team designs the best flag area decoration, and usually the design represents your state or directorate. I don't see anything wrong in what we have done here but it seems that OP had an intention to rage-bait people, which seems to be working here, given the online hate speech against Karnataka, Kannadigas and Bengaluru in general due to some cases of language imposition here.

We cadets have no intention to impose our state or linguistic identity on anyone. In fact, the motto of NCC is Unity and Discipline.... why would we want to divide instead?

I am sure some sensible people here will agree with whatever I have tried putting forth... Especially those that are aware of NCC and republic day celebrations in general...

OP and others who have commented negative things, please give it some thought.

Happy Republic Day

Jai Hind.
