Suggestions for Show Improvements
I've been a fan of Krystal and Saagar since their days at Rising, and have been a premium member ever since Breaking Points kicked off. I still love the show, but there are certain things that I believe are preventing them from reaching a wider audience.
- Tone down the swearing. For a news show, they sure drop a lot of F-bombs and other unprofessional curse words. I realize they are not on television so can say whatever they want, but I find it to be excessive at times and takes away from the professionality of covering the news. I've got family members and friends who I've tried to expose the show to, but the swearing is a turn-off, and they immediately thought the pundits were unqualified based on the language alone.
- Keep emotions in check. Sometimes, Krystal and Saagar’s debates or coverage of stories feel so emotionally charged that it’s like watching heated argument between a couple, with comments that can come across as impulsive or incoherent. As a viewer, this detracts from the experience, making it feel less professional or enjoyable. I’ve also heard similar feedback from friends and family, who say this as a reason they don’t watch the show regularly or take it as seriously.
I thought I had more thoughts, but I think the above 2 suggestions would go a long way. I have grown to absolutely love Ryan and Emily's shows, and I think it's because of their approach to discussing the news. I took a nap during my lunch break today and woke up to Krystal and Saagar arguing about the CA fires and I just felt gross and shut it off. I love them both, but I think they've sort of regressed in a way, and they come off as silly at times.
What do you guys think?
