Hot Take: Janet is Underrated

Hear me out. I'm got Janet's mastery the first day they were available to get Gold 3 on, so I understand how to play her decently. Janet may not be the best Brawler in the game, but by no means is she bad. The reason people don't pick Janet too much is because she doesn't really excel at anything and is hard to play.

Janet has: A decent range Two very good escape tools A good Super for chasing down enemies and scouting as long as you know how to steer it Fast burst damage up close A wide and long attack

The main reasons people don't pick Janet is because her damage is on the low end and she's not the best at any category. HOWEVER, as I've stated multiple times, Brawl Stars is not just about damage. Janet has the advantage of being able to easily push up the map with all her mobility tools and crowd control, forcing the enemy back into more favourable positions for your teammates. This is almost like Meg and Buster and how their presence is intimidating and forces enemies back so they don't have to engage with these two. Kinda funny how my Top 3 Brawlers are these 3. Anyway, Janet isn't as good as Buster and Meg at this forced presence, but she does have more damage at range.

Finally, Janet still serves as a good counterpick against mid-range Brawlers like Crow, Emz, Poco, Nita, Sandy, etc. Her range and mobility with easy attacks to land if you know how to corner shoot gives many favorable situations. Against common matchups right now, such as Sharpshooters Angelo and Piper, Janet fares decently depending on the map, and even on long range maps you can surprise Piper and Angelo with the jump Gadget and cause them to panic Gadget back. Their Gadget for yours is a very good trade as theirs are very good at countering everything really. Even against Kit + Tank, you can push up the map while Kit isn't attached and easily escape say Draco or Buster with your disengage tools.

Janet's best maps in each 3v3 mode are: Brawl Ball: Center Stage (you can use the speed gear and Drop the Bass here, useful for scouting flanking tanks) Heist: Please don't play Heist with Janet (if any even, I guess Kaboom Canyon or Hot Potato) Gem Grab: Gem Fort or other bushy maps Wipeout: Infinite Doom (very grassy, easy to scout with your long range) Knockout: Between the Rivers (this is a mid-range map, easy to pressure Sharpshooters around the edges of the middle part and keep close range Brawlers at bay, personal favourite map this rotation) Hot Zone: Ring of Fire (easy to flank and group enemies, very bushy and open)

Normally I'd say her best mode is Gem Grab, but people seriously don't understand how powerful map presence and taking space is, so Knockout and Ring of Fire are my modes of choice for pushing Janet.

Hope you enjoyed my Psuedo-Janet guide! Don't forget to fire a shot and then Super!
