Solid no-nonsense trailer of BL4 in the gameawards
Pros
Strong Emphasis of Story and Tone compared to 3 that conveys to the audience it's attempting to take things seriously and answer a number of questions while leaving food for thought in regards to the plot (potentially having just revealed what the Eridians look like finally)
Callbacks to BL1, which is my personal favorite, in reference to the first point but also in the handling of the appearance of the Vault Hunters. Their outfits aren't too flashy, designed for what appears to be functionality, while also giving an idea on what each of the Vault Hunters are/can do. Just like in BL1. In addition to the coloring of some of the environments/atmosphere being a return to roots.
Revealed Grappling as a new gameplay mechanic( in addition to dual wielding?)
One of the all-time fan favorite Vault Hunter showcase in the form of Zane coming back (and he looks Dad as fuck)
-Extremely unique and diverse appearances of enemy design who have newer mechanics while retaining callbacks to old ones in respect to the Psychos
Cons
Vault Hunter Specific Gameplay not showcased enough. I need to know more of what that Asian Siren Baddy could do to me.
Loot/Loot Drops although looking cool and high-techy and different not showcased enough. Game prides itself on a thousands of different guns
Music choice/execution kinda mid compared to the other trailers (personally)
Overall: The devs seem to have remembered that Borderlands is Sci-Fi, Hyper Futuristic, Space Mad Max and are returning to form at least tonally. I feel good about their direction for the stroy based on whats shown. Very excited to see how the plot unfolds. Mainly concerned now with the gameplay. Need to definitely see more of the Vault Hunters to get a bit more invested in them and the games release.
