Grandfather wants me to come back to east Malaysia to open a computer shop instead of working in west Malaysia
For further context, my grandfather is a landlord with multiple old shop properties in the old town area, and I somewhat suspect he's a bit senile already
But he constantly asks me to quit my software engineering job (4500 a month after tax) to start a computer/tech shop in bintulu and run it for him, saying he will provide a shop lot for me, which I checked is a kopitiam building in the old town area, the location is quite remote
I myself have thoughts of starting a boardgame/3d printing hybrid shop, selling printers and offering printing services while using some extra space to run games (no I am not trying to illegally print copyrighted minis for profit I don't want to get sue yet)
But personally it's more of a daydream for me and I honestly don't think in east Malaysia, anywhere that isn't Kuching would have the market to sustain it, and our town is nowhere near Kuching
But it seems my grandfather is quite serious about the offer, even got my aunt trying to convince me, but I think it's a risky venture since the demand won't be high and people tend to go to malls for generic tech stuff, unless you're selling something rare which then means you have a smaller market volume
I did not study business management so just wanna ask what's people opinion, especially people who had run a shop before on whether this is a venture to take, my life plan is to make enough money to live in a liberal westoid country and honestly I don't think even with my current salary is good enough
