My OC for blood angels, I sketched today while bored at college, his name is Leto I’ve written some lore as well.
As a child Leo spent his days living in a quiet village, he liked to spend time with his mother farming and working on the crops, one night a rumble was heard throughout the village, followed by the sound of ear-shattering gunshots and explosions as well as guttural screams, his mother hid him under the table as she went to check out what was happening, as she peeped outside she saw a squad of chaos space marines their black and gold armor coated in blood splatters that shimmer in the orange light of the blazing fire, she quickly rushed back in and told him to run for the forest, Leo didn’t want to leave her but she told him sternly to leave, so he did. He carefully made his way out of the back door, his mother close behind him and he darted towards the forest settling in a bush behind a fallen tree. He was shocked to see his mother was not with him as he looked back he saw his mother back in the house packing essentials up, she quickly made her way out of the back door and attempted to reach the treelike as well but as she approached a chaos marine grabbed Leo’s mother from behind she screamed, dropping everything she had on her, the marine let out a robotic laugh as he tore Leo’s mother in half, Leo sat and watched as her blood drenched the green grass. His eyes welled up with tears and his heart filled with rage, he charged from the treeline at the marine. He didn’t care how big the marine was he no longer cared about anything he wanted revenge for his mother. As he approached the marine he grabbed a knife that his mother had and leaped up at the marine only to be grabbed by the chest mid air. The marine stared at him its red eyes glowing, studying him. It then speaks in a low demonic voice “you are something very special, chaos would benefit greatly from your presence” Leo spat at the marine, still filled with anger. Suddenly a flash of light and a loud explosion erupts infront of him as he falls to the ground. As he opens his eyes again he looks up to see the marine lying dead on the floor him head vaporised. All the other marines charge over and are met by Dante and a squad of blood angels, they charge at them with ferocity and effortlessly take them out slicing through them one by one. Dante leading the group hacks the marines to pieces with effortless swipes their cured blood painting his golden armor. Leo watches in awe he had never seen such power before. After the squad were Finnished they regrouped and headed towards the treeline. But as they pass Dante looks towards Leo almost as if he called to him his golden face staring deep into Leto’s, as if he was seeing into his soul. Suddenly Dante turned to Leto and approached him before stopping 5 feet away towering over Leto’s frail build. Leto looks back up at him his eyes filled with fear, anger, sadness and grief blood drenching his golden hair and pale skin. Dante reaches out his hand offering it to Leo before saying in a deep husky voice “come with me, young one”

Basically Dante discovers him and sees something in Leto, he sees visions of a great leader but also when he looks into his eyes he sees sanguinius and in that moment he realises why he has stayed alive for so long, he realises the purpose sanguinius chose him. He takes him back to the tech priests and the chaplain and tells them he wants to transform leo into a blood angel marine. That’s what happens, Leto is put through training and all the surgeries required to become a space marine. Dante trains him personally and to his suprise Leto excels in training, he is fast, strong, his endurance is great and his skill in combat is almost perfect. Leto gets visions like Dante from sanguinius while he sleeps. And he eventually completes his transformation into a blood angel marine.
Leto becomes a great name in the blood angels fighting alongside Dante in many missions leading the blood angels to countless victories. The most noble being taking out a carnifex on his own during his first mission. Holding off a tyranid swarm on his own allowing his battle brothers to carry out a launch sequence. He resisted the forces of chaos with no problem becoming an impenetrable and deadly force against chaos. As he progressed he forged a weapon, a power twin blade allowing him to attack quicker and with more force. With this weapon he would tear through waves upon waves of heretics, aliens and mutants. He also forged his own armor decorating it with the fragmented armor of fallen brothers turning his suit into a living mural and tribute to his fallen brothers. He crafted tubing into his armor to mimic veins where the blood of sanguinius himself could be stored. As well as a bolster underneath his right forearm akin to that of Marnius calgar.
(This bit is a head cannon for like future and stuff so yeah:))
One day when Dante and Leto are deployed on the same mission they get jumped by a powerful force of chaos marines in a trap. In the battle Dante and Leto fight alongside each other flawlessly, however as Leto thinks he took care of the last marine Dante who was targeted badly in the fight gets impaled through the stomach by a chaos marine who Leto immediately kills with a gunshot to the head. Leto carries dante out of the tomb back to the open landscape sitting him up against a rock. Blood angel marines gather around as Leto speaks to Dante. He is weak and dying as Leto removes both their helmets and says “Dante brother, you are badly injured, if we can get you back to the battle barge then we can-“ before he gets to finish his sentence Dante interupts with a raspy and hollow voice “no… don’t be stupid, there’s no fixing this” Leto is confused and annoyed at Dante’s lack of will to stay alive “but what about us? Youre just going to abandon us and your position?” Dante laughs blood filling his mouth as he says “my dear brother Leto, I’ve been fighting for hundreds of years, i fought alongside sanguinius, so if I die I know that you will do a much better job than I could, you know why? Because when I look at you I see a glimpse of him, you talk like him and you fight like him. So please don’t make me hang on any more, it’s time for a new age for the blood angels.” Leto is stunned for Dante’s words, and for the first time in years he feels fear. However he understands Dante’s words and wants to honour them “ okay, you can rest brother, you can Finaly rest” the sun rises and it’s golden rays hit Dante’s face its warmth spreading to him, “thank you, brother-“ Dante whispers as he closes his eyes a single tear falling down his cheek as his head falls back and he dies. The surrounding blood angels kneel to honour Dante’s service. The ultramarines who were called in as backup kneel as well. After this Leto is called up and takes Dante’s place, he takes Dante’s armor and incorporates it into his own allowing his to keep his mentor with him for the rest of his days. Leto then leads the blood angles
