Do weapons from new update count towards achievements ?

So I'm going for a platinum run for BMW on the PS5. I am not sure if the new weapons added to the game in the new update count towards the 'craft all staffs and spears' trophy. My understanding is that the materials for those staffs comes from doing the challenge mode. Was Hoping to get some guidance as to whether they are required for the achievement or I can take my time to get them ?
