Advice for pizza party?

Update: thanks everyone for the advice. I’ll probably skip this year or if I do go I’ll bring a protein shake. I do not want to throw up. Once was enough!

I had surgery 1/23 and am doing well, all things considered.

I’m currently on the purée phase and things are going well there.

My volunteer group does a fancy pizza night once a year to thank the volunteers for the previous year’s volunteering. That evening (2/8) will fall during my “ground protein” phase.

I am considering attending and just eating the protein from my slice of pizza, chewing very very well.

Is this a bad idea?

I can skip this year and everyone would 100% understand, but I’ve been missing everyone and want to see how restaurants go. Is it too soon?
