Why do people hate when others change companion appearances?

The way I see it is as long as you aren’t doing weird stuff that sexualizes them like giving the women bigger “features”, changing gith noses or making Wyll a white guy then everything else seems fair game to me. However I see so much hate whenever others try to mix up companion appearances like it’s some kind of attack on the character or the commenter specifically. I don’t usually do much besides hair changes but on my current play through I made some pretty drastic changes and thought it was a pretty fun way to add a little variety to the umpteenth time experiencing the game so I don’t understand having such a strong aversion to it.

I’ve included a few screenshots of what I feel to be my tasteful reimaginings of the characters so maybe you guys could say what you find so unappealing about them(while being nice plz) if you’re one of those people I’ve been talking about.

P.s can’t wait for photo mode, not having a good way to get proper pics of characters is so painful.
