How do you feel about your femininity?
I feel like I possess a natural femininity, but it doesn’t line up with the performative femininity society teaches and expects from us. I’ve never questioned my own femininity because I believe it to be innate. I’m feminine because I am a woman. If I have to pretend to be something other than what is natural to me, that would be role play, not femininity.
Society heavily emphasizes the physical presentation of femininity, and ignores the any of the deeper layers, so we’re stuck in this odd place of feeling one way, but being seen as another.
Wearing dresses and makeup and having nails and hair and all that stuff doesn’t make us feminine. We’re people, not dolls, but that’s what they expect us to be. If we don’t present a certain way, our femininity is questioned.
So my question to you is, how do you feel about YOUR femininity and what are your thoughts on society views femininity?
