Gold?

So, got the base up, got the vehicle creator plans, but I'm short 1 gold for it. So far I've only found 4 total (plus the gold bar), and after the chips for the laser, smelter, research machine.. i'm still short one. Do I need to disasemble the research or smelter for now in order to build the vehicle bay?
