How do you know when to go to the ED?

✨UPDATE✨per urgent care doc consulting with ED doc, looks like I am going to the ED. Sigh, I will go home first to get my kindle and other goodies in case it’s gonna be a long night :/

Kind of a story but I am just at a loss what to do:(

I finally received an asthma diagnosis in the last couple of years. I have had to go to urgent care in the past for treatment because finding a primary care/see specialty who are accepting new patients is pretty much impossible.

Having been diagnosed with this and not having true continuity of care, I don’t really know how to recognize if I need to seek more aggressive treatments (re: ED). I managed to get a nebulizer treatment in clinic a couple days ago and a spacer with my inhaler which has helped. A couple weeks ago I finished a round of prednisone but barely put a dent in what I am going through. I am still struggling and have been using my rescue inhaler haler on the dot every 4 hours. Again temporary relief but I don’t think I am making a real dent in this issue.

I really don’t know what to do. My body is so tired, I am tired of being starved of oxygen. I want to cry all the time.
