Gabapentin for cat

My cat was prescribed liquid gabapentin which was provided by the veterinary hospital. It was a clear, odorless liquid. I recently filled the prescription at a compound pharmacy that assured me they were careful with prescriptions for animals. When I opened the bottle, I noticed the liquid was not clear but was a milky color. It also had a slight odor. I’m worried that it might not be the same, or may have been filled incorrectly. The instructions also say to shake well, which was not the case with the previous medication. I’m afraid to give it to my cat and I cannot call the pharmacy until tomorrow. Can anyone tell me if this is normal for a veterinary compound of gabapentin? Thank you!
