Cat drooling excessively

Hi I’m really worried about my buddy, he’s been drooling today which didn’t immediately strike any concern, but by tonight the drooling has gotten excessive to the point it was dripping into puddles and all over his fur in droplets

I’m really scared he’s accidentally poisoned himself eating something he shouldn’t have in the house, he’s also a completely indoors cat never once going outside

He doesn’t seem to be in any physical pain at all I’ve checked his mouth and his teeth and gums seem okay, he’s a very chill cat and that behaviour hasn’t changed

Should I be taking him to the vet’s immediately or will he be okay to wait til morning? As I’ll be getting him checked regardless just in case
