Did a random unsigned or newly-signed pop group play at your school?

Off the back of a post I saw on Bluesky, I'm trying to remember the name of a boyband that did a "gig" at my high school one random Tuesday afternoon c.99-2000. I think it had an ex-Byker Grove actor in it and it might have been Point Break, but I'm not sure if the dates line up. If anyone had the same boyband play their school, can you remember their name?

Also did anyone else have a fledgling pop group or solo artist play at their school, and did they make it big or disappear as quickly as they appeared?
