Why do some parents destroy technology?

What I mean is, Little Johnny gets told by his old man to raise his grades or the PS4 Pro, which is a 400 dollar console, gets destroyed with a sledgehammer He doesn't and the dad follows with his plan, and little Johnny gets to watch his daddy, destroy his PS4 all the while being videotaped by his mother to put up on Facebook, YouTube, whatever. We've seen the videos. I understand you need to discipline your kids, psychology dictates that's not how you discipline your kids. That's a surefire way to make your kids hate you, because I got my PS2 Slim destroyed in 4th grade because my grades weren't to their satisfaction. That's a gross overreaction in my opinion
