How can I make my husbands vasectomy less miserable for him? How can we be discreet about it?
Gentlemen. Basically the title. Husband has the procedure. I care take for my grandma several days a week and need to give an explanation (I know I shouldn’t have to, but she’s 88 and asks). My husband would prefer to keep this private. What things can we say to keep the family from knowing? Dentist was ruled out. Also advice on what I can do to make him and the jewels cozy once we get home. Thanks!
Edit: Everyone saying it’s not a big deal, okay I get it. We well know it’s a mild procedure, but we want to be together. I don’t understand why people are saying he needs to toughen up or whatever. He’s there for me and my appointments, why wouldn’t I be there for him? It’s fine if you have a different take and relationship style, but don’t be hating.
UPDATE: Today went alright. I took the blame. Went to my grandmas as usual, and around the end of the visit I let her know I wouldn’t be able to make it tomorrow because of a pap. I recently had a ‘lady’ appointment and she was very concerned and curious and didn’t seem to buy it. She did, however let it go later in the day. I decided not to go with food poisoning because she has to have specific medicine in the morning, and I wanted her to be able anticipate my not being there. Thank you for all of the suggestions! The hemorrhoid ones made me laugh even though hemorrhoids fucking suck. Just the shock factor. As for husband, I have two bags of peas on standby and will be taking them with us tomorrow in the car (in a cooler). I have a good cushion for him, and a gaming pillow to keep the cats and pups away. We have gingerale, snacks, and an anti-horny plan! Lol. We are grateful to the redditors here that were kind and understanding. The advice has been not only helpful, but comforting. Thank you very much gents! Take care.
FINAL UPDATE: We had a really normal and good experience. Husband was loopy from the medication before and after. Walking bow legged still. The peas have been clutch! Took a bag with us and got him Bojangles while we waited for the rest of his scripts. Gaming lap pillow has been essential for the cats. Our orange one is particularly problematic. We got a lightsaber from my parents around Christmas, and I’ve been guarding/blocking his lap with it (no animal abuse involved, just guiding him away). Thanks Reddit! Good luck to those seeking this endeavor!
