Can you buy alcohol in the duty free at Dublin Airport before 10:30

I'm flying to London early tomorrow morning and want to buy a friend a nice bottle of whiskey. I've only carry on so can't check in a bottle and obviously can't bring a fully bottle through security. Do the normal off licence rules apply in the airport or will I be fine to buy it before 10:30?
