Is Bumble a safe way to make friends with other women?

I (25F) have only male friends and acquaintances, and hardly 5-6 female friends out of which majority are from school or university. My workplace has mostly males and I also dont prefer socializing with colleagues after work. I'm shy/ introverted.

I want to make more female friends, and was thinking using the Bumble for Friends feature. I have never used any dating apps. Will this be safe? Please let me know. Thanks
