Question about chattel slavery in Ancient Egypt

I keep on hearing that the Ancient Egyptians didn't practice Chattel slavery, but the Pharoah was a God-king and his subjects were his property, and that the pyramids were built using forced labor. How is that not chattel slavery? If you own them, and you make them do forced labor, that's chattel slavery, isn't it? I am aware that those who built the pyramids were paid in wheat & wine and had 2 days off every 10 days, but in the american south & caribbean, slave owners (ofc a minority of them) were nice to their slaves, does that mean they weren't chattel slaves?
